The smoke exhaust fire damper is one of the most important components in the fire protection system. In the fire alarm system, all control modules involved in the fire protection system are key focuses of fire engineering acceptance and also serve as a safeguard for protecting the vital interests of the people. The damper-controlled fan shutdown is also a protective measure to prevent the fire from spreading to the smoke exhaust fan in the fire protection system. During the installation of alarm equipment, the damper-controlled fan shutdown is not only a crucial link but also a mandatory part of fire engineering acceptance.

Wire Connection Method for Damper-Controlled Fan Shutdown:

1、Connect the positive terminal of the 24V fire protection power supply to terminal 14 (positive terminal of the intermediate relay coil), and connect terminal 13 (negative terminal of the intermediate relay coil) to the actuator of the smoke exhaust damper for output.

2、Connect the actuators of the smoke exhaust dampers in series and return to the negative terminal of the 24V power supply to form a control circuit.

3、Use the normally closed contact of the intermediate relay as a medium to cut off the neutral line (N) of the fan's secondary control circuit.

4、When the secondary circuit of the fan control cabinet is not connected to the relay, the neutral lines are short-circuited to each other for connecting the secondary circuit. During wiring, simply remove the short wire and connect the two neutral lines to the normally closed contacts of the intermediate relay (as shown in the figure: terminals 9 and 1 of the intermediate relay).

Principle:

When 24V fire protection power is input, the relay coil switch is activated through the intermediate relay coil and the smoke exhaust damper actuator.

When the smoke exhaust damper is open: The 24V signal of the fire damper is short-circuited, the intermediate relay does not operate, and the fan's secondary control circuit works normally.

When the smoke exhaust damper is closed: The negative terminal of the 24V power supply is cut off, the intermediate relay coil operates and keeps the normally closed contacts open, resulting in the loss of the fan's secondary control circuit and the shutdown of the fan.
