In fire protection equipment, fire dampers belong to the smoke prevention and exhaust system. They are generally interlocked with the fire alarm system, and their importance goes without saying.
A smoke exhaust damper is installed at the connection between the smoke exhaust centrifugal fan and the smoke exhaust pipe, and another smoke exhaust damper is installed at the end of the smoke exhaust pipe. It should be noted that smoke exhaust dampers and [other types of] dampers are industrial equipment with completely different functions.
Smoke exhaust dampers are normally closed and open in the event of a fire, interlocking with the alarm system. The opening condition is that a fire is detected by the fully automatic alarm system (e.g., detector alarm). When the fire alarm is set to fully automatic mode, the smoke exhaust dampers open automatically, and the fans start in linkage.
[Other types of] dampers are normally opened or closed, and also remain open in case of a fire. However, when the smoke temperature reaches 280℃, all such dampers close automatically. Although the fans have already started in linkage, they can no longer operate normally. During the adjustment of fire dampers by Aoda Ventilation , the fans are allowed to start at high power or reduced voltage.
Differences Between Safety Louver Air Outlets and 70℃ Smoke and Fire Dampers
70℃ fire dampers are used in the pipelines of air conditioning supply and exhaust systems;
Ordinary on-off dampers are used in the pipelines of air conditioning supply and exhaust systems. In case of a fire, when the temperature reaches 280℃, ordinary on-off dampers are activated for fire protection purposes.
Some smoke exhaust windows are made fixed and non-openable, while others are designed such that fixed windows are installed on the upper part, and openable smoke exhaust windows are installed on the lower part—this design results in a more significant smoke exhaust effect.
Regarding the price of two-stage louver air outlets: Fire protection equipment is applicable to the smoke prevention and exhaust systems of household central air conditioners. The types of centrifugal fans (or air conditioners) and valves are controlled by electrical fire protection equipment. In the same air duct system, after multiple fire dampers are connected in series, one fan is configured for the system.
Exhaust fans can be started manually at the fire control focus point, or automatically started in linkage with the opening of air supply outlets (or dampers). The smoke exhaust fan is installed behind the 280℃ smoke and fire damper (located in front of the fan), and the damper closes in linkage [when the temperature reaches 280℃].
