1)Smoke Exhaust Fire Damper
Functions: Opening and closing; automatic closing controlled by 280℃ temperature; manual closing; outputting action signals; outputting interlock signals (only required for smoke exhaust fire dampers at the inlet of smoke exhaust centrifugal fans); manual reset.
Installation & Application: Installed in smoke exhaust ducts passing through fire walls, key rooms, the horizontal section at the connection of vertical and horizontal air ducts, smoke exhaust risers of smoke exhaust systems covering multiple smoke-proof zones, and the inlet of smoke exhaust centrifugal fans.
2) Smoke Exhaust Damper
Functions: Normally open or normally closed; manual or remote electric opening; outputting action signals; outputting interlock signals (interlocked with smoke exhaust centrifugal fans); manual reset.
Installation & Application: Installed on the smoke exhaust riser of each smoke-proof zone, forming a smoke exhaust channel together with air outlets. It is suitable for scenarios with insufficient ceiling space as it can be installed on horizontal pipe sections.
3) Smoke Exhaust Outlet
A smoke exhaust outlet consists of a smoke exhaust damper and a decorative air outlet. Smoke exhaust fire damper standards provide detailed descriptions of it, while smoke prevention and exhaust standards define it relatively simply.
Functions: Same as those of smoke exhaust dampers.
Installation & Application: Since the damper and air outlet are installed on vertical air ducts, it cannot be installed when ceiling space is limited. It is suitable for places with sufficient ceiling space.
4) Electric Smoke Exhaust Fire Damper
From the fire certification report of smoke exhaust fire dampers, it can be seen that a smoke exhaust fire damper "shall" have a temperature control function and "should" have an electric control function—indicating that the electric control function is not mandatory. After all, the actuator is complex and inevitably increases costs, and many locations in smoke exhaust systems that require smoke exhaust fire dampers do not need the electric shutdown function.
However, it is very common in places where smoke exhaust systems are shared with ventilation and air conditioning systems. In case of a fire, it is often necessary to close loops unrelated to smoke exhaust, which requires electric smoke exhaust fire dampers to achieve.
Functions: Opening and closing; automatic closing controlled by 280℃ temperature; manual closing; remote electric closing; outputting action signals; outputting interlock signals (sometimes interlocked with ventilation and air conditioning equipment); manual reset.
Installation & Application: Installed on ventilation and air conditioning ducts that need to be automatically cut off in case of a fire.
